My 89' 535i E34 also has the same condition - unable to find where this =
occurs, so no success in fixing. Perhaps having a volunteer lay down on =
the rear floor with a dental mirror and a bright flashlight while you =
drive the "twisties" could locate the source of the clunk. Then, we =
could devise a fix. All that is probably needed is a washer, or =
tightening of a rivet with a hammer and an anvil. The trick is finding =
the correct spot.
