Aside from the CSL I mentioned, I've been working on a variety of
BMW-related models.
Recently, I finished the Jagermeister M1 from ESCI in 1/24th scale. I
have to say that this model lacks in quality. Looks really nice, but
construction leads to be desired.
Another interesting piece I've come across is a BMW 507 (1955) die cast.
Seems quite nice.
There are several E36 M3 kits in the wings. We have a very high quality
1/24th scale by Dragon (new to plastic scale autos - they focus on
weaponry). Furthermore, we are expecting to acquire an E36 M3 LTW kit
from Dragon.
Being an E28 M5 owner, I've wanted an E28 M5 plastic scale kit. One would
think they are non-existent. After much searching we have discovered a
1/24th scale E28 M5 made in Japan. My hobby shop guru and plastics
specialist, Matt Sturgeon, is working on getting importation of this
model.
Finally, I'm looking for a good quality 2002 model. Or variations on the
theme, such as a Turbo model, or a 1600, etc. We've not had luck, yet,
but Matt's working it.
I've discovered that Tamiya 635CSI Groupe A Schnitzer 1/24th is NLA.
So is the M635 from Tamiya in 1/24th. This is quite unfortunate, as these
models are wonderrful (I have them both). The Groupe A car is
unbelievablly beautiful.
Back to sniffing glue,
Filippo
p.s. Anyone with interesting BMW plastic scale information or looking for
high quality plastic scales of your favourite car/bike/etc, feel free to
contact me. The Plastics Master at my hobby shop is way into euro plastic
scales and has found quite a few nice kits for me...
