     No to slam the Audi A4 - but checking with my mechanic, as well as 
     owners of previous late model Audi's owners- they:
     1. Have a very high re-repair rate after many miles.
     2. Have VERY POOR RESALE -  your bimmer will be much better off.
     3. Parts are out of this world... check a part for part replacement + 
     install - 
     
     A Bimmer is a Bimmer is a Bimmer - people love them and will want to 
     buy them - not so for AUDI's [still stuck with the stigma of 'sudden 
     acceleration'] - they really depreciate badly - thus the $5k will 
     shrink away as the repair and depreciation occurs.
     
     But - 4WD is cool and they are great on the Autobaun.. the styling is 
     cool also...  
     
     I'd, IMHO, keep with the Bimmer...
     
     NO FLAME INTENDED,  PLEASE - I'm a kind and gentle type...
