<E36 M3> mirror, convex glass for driver's side?

john@domain.elided wrote about Becker Imports' M3-style mirrors
with convex glass on both sides. A while back, i read somewhere
(European Car?) that the 97 M3 was going to also have convex
glass on both exterior mirrors too? In any event, does anyone
know whether either (i) Becker Imports's mirror glass can be
obtained separately & fit a real M3 mirror housing or (ii) if
the mirror glass from a 97 M3 can be retrofitted? Seems that
the latter is likely, while the former more difficult.

In the meantime, i'm using the over-priced ($19.95) Autobahn
mirror from Griot's. While it does eliminate the blind-spot
when mounted on the lower-left windshield (inside! above
the AC vent), the unsightly attachment post is an esthetic
loser. Of course, the blind-spot is only of concern to M3
owners who drive on multi-laned freeways :-)
