        The power cable in our '95 325i was located under the carpet on top
of the passenger side (right) wheel well.  Access is most easily gained (in
my experience) by removing the rear speaker from that side, then you can
more easily pull back the carpet.  I think ours was tied up in a bundle,
which will have to be undone to reach the cd player.

        yes, the cd badge is certainly a ploy to send the DIY type searching
fruitlessly on that side of the car.  The cd data cable was tucked neatly
inside the right rear tail light housing in our car.
