- - Have one of BMW's best suspensions,

and that most of the '88s have unfixable electrical problems. I vaguely
recall that there were 3 series of the '88, and that the latest, as well
as the '89s are OK.

I welcome comments on these cars, particularly with respect to
identifying the various series. Also, what is the "E" number, and which
years came to the US with 5-speeds? I am interested in the SWB model.
