There seems to be some confusion over the "sequential" 6 speed
gearbox in the new M3. According to 'CAR' - September it is the
a 6 speed manual transmission with hydraulic actuators strapped 
onto the clutch and gearbox with a set of chips and hydraulics 
to coordinate everything. The gearchange can be set to sequential 
manual or automatic. System design was by Getrag.

UK price is expected to be 2000 pounds. Gearchange is said to be 
"jerky". Apparently the reason for this design was that they 
couldn't find a torque converter that could take 321 hp at 
7400 rpm and that the American market is demanding
a 321 hp M3 automatic!
