Posting abbreviations - m#@$%!

Would someone care to enlighten me as to the use of abbrevations on the
list, or is it a secret code amongst digesters, who can flame postings
without the sender even guessing. I have worked some out like BTW etc. , but
it would be useful if I knew them all. Sorry, I am from AFRICA !!! We don't
know how to spell abbreviations.

BTW, why is abbreviation such a long word ?
