radar detector

Hi all,

Has anyone remote mounted a radar detector say, behind the grill or
something and put an LED strip and a piezotweeter somewhere inside the car?
I was thinking of disabling the the service indicator lights and using
that as the radar LEDs or maybe even using some sort of diode system so the
SI lights come on at startup and then when the lights go off, the radar
detector takes over control.  Any ideas or experiences?
