Ruell-
The AFM is the Air Flow Meter, right? As I understand it, BMW uses a hot wire
sensor to measure air flow. The wire is heated to a specific temperature, and
the amount of voltage required to maintain that temperature is proportional to
the air mass flowing past it. If you put nitrous up-stream of the AFM, the
cooling effect of the expanding nitrous (from liquid to vapor) would play havoc
with this sensor.
If the AFM does not work on the hot wire principle, my whole explanation is
moot. If I'm wrong, could someone please explain to me how it _does_ work?
