Ok..I hear what you are saying, but what do ANY of the above have to do with
a chip and air filter? Any dealer who even ATTEMPTS to associate the
chip/air filter with ANY of the above has questionable business practices,
ie VOB. Besides, if Im not mistaken, the only way they can tell if you have
a chip is to look at the motronics box and notice the modified tabs, which
would be evident whether you put back the original chip or not.
And in addition, If I ask a Service Advisor whether a bubbling door panel
will be replaced with a better replacement or the same type, which may
bubble again, I expect a straight answer whether I have a chip or not. Dont
lie and say "Well, you see, BMW is on the cutting edge, and the original
panel was held in place by a type of adhesive they were experimenting with,
the replacement is different and better" (Ralph Gordon, VOB) BTW, BMWNA
finally confessed to me that what I was told was "incorrect".
VOB. A-Holes. The service manager should be beaten with a door panel 'til
it bubbles over his head.
