No, I dont think its worth that. Most, if not all, of the inspections you
can do yourself. Check your chassis for rust. Check your exhaust system.
Check your tire pressure. Check your battery water level. (Thats about $75
saved right there!)
Check everything else. Keep a notebook journal of everything you have
checked with the date. Change your oil and filters. On the E36's the manual
transmission fluid and rear differential fluid may be a pain in the ass to
do...I took mine to the local quick lube joint, ensured and watched that
they put in the right type/weight of fluids, both for $20.00. (coupon used).
Thats it. save yourself tons of $$
By the way, isnt it a bit early for the lights to be coming on? Usually
they come on between 9 and 10k, and again about 9-10k later, unlsess you
have been seriously getting into the throttle, making lots of short trips,
stop and go traffic, etc...
