'87 325is more ?'s

I know there's been allot of discussions on stereos upgrades 
and alarms etc.  But unfortunately I no longer have those digests
So I have two  simple questions if anyone can help:

 1) I have the stock radio/cass in my '87 325is I'd like to add a cd changer , 
does the unit have cd control in 
some manner? Is this possible to add on a cd player, or do I have to change the 
head unit?   

2) The car has no alarm system, any recommendations, experiences on alarms 
other than the BMW joke  alarm. Clifford?
