A question for a radio specialist in the group:
How much current does the power antenna 'sense' line
(the line from the radio that tells the antenna to raise
when you turn on the radio) draw when the antenna is in
the UP position?
I'd like to install a toggle switch to tame some of the
antenna's hyperactivity. Three options would be nice.
Options (switch positions):
1. As is. Automatically up and down as radio power cycles.
2. Always down. I'll just open the sense line.
3. Always up. 12 volts always applied to the sense line.
If the line draws more than 100ma when the antenna mast is
up, then I'll have to rule this option out and live with the
'yo-yo'.
I know one way to find out (DMM in series), but I thought
I'd ask first (out of laziness).
Thanks,
