O2 sensor checking (more)

OK,

I did the check in the Bentley manual on the O2 sensor in my '90 325iC
(4-wire O2 sensor) with a friends DVOM over the weekend. Now, the
manaul doesn't say what values of voltage I should read. It only says
to use the 0 - 1 volt range. Well, we were getting readings around
10 - 20 mv. This seems awfully low to me. If the "standard output"
is supposed to be .45 volts, then is this telling me my O2 sensor
is shot?

          Thanks!
              Larry.
