Running hot- Bob Hannesschlager

It sounds as though the list of things tried is all that can be done, but
the problem still sounds like a clogged radiator, common at 10 years. Did
the radiator shop really rod it out, or just say so? Not every shop in our
area can handle removal of the plastic tanks, and refitting them after
rodding. A clogged radiator can also make your auxiliary fan temp. sending
switches fail to operate, since clogging at the top very neatly prevents
hot water from reaching the switches.
Even with no response from the switches, the fan will operate properly when
the AC is turned on.

The chances that the pump is bad are about zilch. It sounds like an old
radiator problem. (Another problem with plastic radiators is the breakdown,
with heat and age, of the inlet neck. It tends to crack or break,
eventually.) All-metal radiators are generally available, but first quiz
the guy who"rodded" the radiator. Another temporary help would be to use
Red Line's Water Wetter with a bit less anti-freeze in the system. Check
your Red Line dealer, or we sell it for $6.50/bottle.

Good luck, Stan
