It seems that fluid adding / checking dip stick in the GM THM R1 has been
done away with.
I understand that it is being pumped into the side drain plug(when it has
been lost from a busted cooler line), the trans is then warmed up to
40celsius and then filled until it can't take anymore. This is not just a
better idea, it's also a messy hassle .
Why? $5 Cost savings of a dip stick?
Is Dexron 3( isn't this the fluid used) so stable that it will last for the life
of the car(10-15 years)?
There must be a reasonable service life on a Transmission which has no
service maintenance. What is the service life in miles?
( Go ahead tell me 250k easy and I'll buy one.)
