<misc> vacation fun

Hi everyone.. just got back from a vacation in my little E30 325i.
Ottawa Ontario to Myrtle Beach South Carolina.. around 1700km each way..
16.5 hours each way.. :) Had to drive slow for a lot of the way because of
torrential rain storms. Did it ever rain!

Four adults and luggage is a little squished in a 2 door :) Didn't
bother the car though - it was hard keeping the speeds down to
something reasonable :)

Recent addition to the BMW was a CB radio - traded an old radar
detector for it - and it was great! Combination of radar detector
 (Bel 625ST) and CB worked really well. Lots of garbage on the
air.. but lots of funny conversations and quite a few tips on
'smokies' and 'bears' from the truckers.

Only downside was the AC decided to run out of poop on the trip
back. Sigh. Still blows cool but not cold.

Oh well.. only 36 digests to skim through and catch up on..
