Young Drivers & ABS
It's nice to hear from some young drivers who obviously do appreciate the
fine characteristics of a BMW and understand the responsibilities of owning
and driving a 'performance' vehicle. If only there were more like them!
On the subject of ABS and computers doing things that drivers should be able
to do, the computer can sense the behaviour of each wheel independantly and
adjust the braking when THAT wheel starts to lock up, no driver can do that.
If evidence is needed to justify this, consider the fact that serious
aircraft use this technology and aircraft manufacturers are pretty
hard-headed when it comes to technology. If you don't believe ABS works, try
the standard demo and put the wheels on one side on the dirt with the others
on the tar and hit the brakes! Don't try this if you don't have ABS.
