<E36> Tire pressures ? FR/RR ?

I've been with this tread for some time and I noticed that some 
say the front should have higher pressure than the rear while other 
suggests higher pressure on the rear (which the factory also suggests). 
I'm just wondering, how will each set-up affect the handling of the car? 
What about FR/ RR being equal?
