removing window tinting

Howdo folks

There was a string about removing window tinting which i didn't follow, 
and now i need help.  How do you remove old baked on windowtinting, and 
the adhesive it leaves behind?  I tried to dissolve the window tinting 
with many solvants including gasoline, and chloroform, but it didn't 
budge.  The razor method is hard, and thanks to my slipping hands i now 
have a brand new ventilation opening in my headliner!  So please, 
helpppppp...
