A news flash in the newspaper this morning says that BMW has agreed to design
and supply Rolls Royce with engines in the 21st century. The current R/R engine
will be used until 2000. BMW will also collaborate on a new, smaller Bentley
convertible.
The engines will be a V-12 and a turbocharged V-8.
BMW beat out Mercedes because it offered the "best overall deal". There is no
equity stake involved at this time.
