Subject: 1993 M3 mannuals ?

Hello fellow bimmerheads,

Is there a mannual for the E36 M3 ? I called Bavarian auto parts and they told
me that it would take 2 years until somebody comes up with a mannual.

Does anybody know how to flush the radiator of an E36 M3 ? I know there is a
engine drain plug somewhere ...

Note : I retorqued my wheel lugs after 1000 miles and the front wheels were
way off. The rear wheel lugs were up to spec at 80 foot/pound. New E36 owners
make sure you check the torque settings if you want to keep your rotors.

Hi All

I recently joined the list in anticipation
of purchasing an '82 or newer 633csi. I have
a couple of likely candidates in mind, and was
wondering if anyone would be so kind as to
clue me in on any quirks of this model that
I should be aware of while checking them out.
(other than the normal general condition checks)

thanx in advance

i did an experiment, and removed the text that followed the end
of the digest.

it turns out that this was why most standard "undigestify" commands
failed on the digest. at the very least,

meta-x undigestify-rmail-message

in GNU Emacs 19.25 now works correctly. others probably do as well.

cheers,

I just had my rotors and pads replaced under warranty for the "Brake
induced vibration" problem I posted the service bulletin about a few weeks
ago. They did it with no arguments. Fix one thing you break something
else right? Within one week my wheels were solid black w/ brake dust, much
worse than before. I was considering getting some of the dust shields or
switching to a different pad that would neither vibrate or double as a dust
factory.

The obvious concern w/ the dust shields would be heat. Any experiences
with these out there? (Doug, you don't seem real fond of yours.) I could
not find anything on brake dust or pads in the FAQ.

How about experiences w/ aftermarket brake pads? I was using Repco's on my
325e a couple years back, and they seemed to work well w/o nearly as much
dust. I noticed in Roundel there are two versions of Repco's. I don't
remember if the ones I used were the Metal Masters or the Deluxe models
(difference?) I dont do any track driving, but I do occasionally work the
brakes pretty hard.

Thanks in advance,

Jimmy Shrake

Subject: Jingle Bells - the Aussie way

Hi everyone,

Here's a familiar tune for Christmas. . .

- - -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Dashing throught the bush, in a rusty(*) '002,
Kicking up the dust, with a pack of Tooheys Blue,
Kelpie by my side, singing Christmas songs,
Summer time Downunder, in singlet, shorts and thongs

[chorus]
    Oh!
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
Christmas in Australia on a scorching summers day,
    Oh!
Jingle bells, jingle bells, Christmas time on cue,
Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty(*) '002.

Engine's getting hot; we dodge the kangaroos,
The swaggie climbs aboard, he is welcome too.
All the family's there, sitting by the pool,
Christmas Day the Aussie way, by the barbecue.

[chorus]

Come the afternoon, Grandpa has a doze,
The kids and Uncle Arthur are swimming in their clothes,
The time comes 'round to go, we take the family snap,
Pack the car and all shoot through before the washing up.

[chorus]

- - -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

I'm indebted to Aussie '02 enthusiasts David and Sue Burnett
from our Gold Coast Club for faxing these lyrics to us.

David's '02 is a real scorcher. At a recent track day held at
Wakefield Park, (a club circuit at Goulburn in southern NSW),
David took all the honours, including fastest time of the day,
over and above other competition such as 3.0CSL, rhd E30 M3,
M5, ...

We also awarded him the "DCNT Trophy" - "Don't Come Next Time!!"

Note: (*) For real enthusiasts, replace the word "rusty"
with "venerable". Who cares about timing, it's accuracy we're
after here ;-)

On behalf of all BMW enthusiasts on Oz, I'd like to wish you all
a very merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year...

Gary.
