[this is being sent to all the digests i administer as the message
is general and important; the incident that triggered this was on
the bmw-digest about 5 minutes ago, but it could have happened anywhere]

AAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH.

please guys, do not, ever, spam the list with something like
this 

Subject: what comes around, goes around!

posting.  i know most of you know not to do this sort of thing,
but as a general reminder, spamming the list is a really really
bad thing to do.

for those unfamiliar with the slang, spamming a list means
dumping something really inappropriate on it.  this includes
mrs. field's cookie recipes, notes about non-existant computer
viruses, exposes about "blue star tattoo LSD tabs", anything
having to do with postcards and the guiness book of world records,
and anything related to lawyers and green card lotteries.
