Howdy--
Well, I hope this doesn't get overlooked in the digest pile, because I could
really use some help.
I have a '74 2002 with what I believe to be a 32/36 weber on it. Whatever
the number, it is a dual barrel. The primary barrel runs great but the second
has some problems.
I don't know what the part is called, but there is a little brass tube that
goes across the barrel and lets gas in. It has become loose, and rattles its
way around so the hole faces up instead of down. Well, when I go to pass the
guy on the freeway and floor it, the engine starts to slow down. I am
assuming the engine is just sucking too much air with not enough gas. I have
fixed the problem before by facing the hole down and then sort of crimping it
so it is more oval and is lodged where it should be.
Now it is a problem again and I turn to all of you 2002 wizards for advice.
Can I do anyhting about it? I can't afford a new carburator on my budget.
thank you very much in advance,
bear
