E30 M3

	I'm posting a question for a friend of mine looking to purchase a 
used M3.  He lives in California, and will be purchasing the car froma 
gentleman in Texas.  The car is a 1990 M3, wil 20K on the odometer.  His 
question basically is, will the car pass the smog check, when he brings 
it over to California, and if not, what will need to be done to it.  The 
car is originally a Texas car, so it probably won't have the certain 
requirements to it that California imposes.  
	and as an aside, if anyone has any idea about the process for 
transferring ownership (ie. sales tax, etc) across state lines, he could 
reallyuse some info, email it to me..  Thanks!
