I don't know if my message was the one that helped, but I posted one of
your answers about cleaning the mounting points for the bulbs.
You said the left was worse than the right, and my parent's
528e had exactly the same relationship. It may have been b/c they almost
always parked it so that the left side was at a lower level than the
right, so maybe water was running in that direction and collecting in the
left tail light assembly.
Glad you fixed it, that "check" light can get annoying when it keeps
coming one and nothing is wrong.
