[bmw] Thermostat question

Hi all,

The other day, a digester wrote in with an interesting question regarding 
the temp gauge on his BMW... I guess more correctly, he wrote regarding the 
fact that his temp gauge never stays in the middle. I have the same issue 
with both my BMWs and was wondering if the fix was the thermostat as he 
orginally mused.

Was there any thought on that? I can actually watch my temp gauge rise and 
fall while driving...
