[bmw] re: 528e with Rough Running

Pam and David,
    Sounds like 1. the coolant temperature sensor is bad.
2. the air flow meter has wear on the carbon band.  The pointer can be 
reposition and tensioned tighter downward to make up fo the wear.  Else 
a few hundred for a new one.  Used one are risky unless bought from 
known source with guarantee.
3. Replace the fuel filter while at it.
4. Possibly the primer pump in the fuel tank is going bad.

This will happen in your 318i in the same way, just to plan ahead.  Or 
replace at least the coolant temperature sensor before it fails.
