[alfa] RE: 2-liter horsepower

Steve,

With the 105.48 cams, 10.4:1 Borgos, 40mm Webers and Dellortos with careful
assembly, we see between 139 bhp and 148 bhp at the flywheel on our engine
dyno.

With more aggressive cams and larger carbs, 159 bhp-165 bhp streetable,
dependable horsepower is achievable. This costs twice as much.

We have had almost half a dozen two-liter single plug engines with 45mm
carbs, 36, 38 or 40mm chokes make between 195-202 bhp on the same dyno. One
of which I've been racing on for over four years! This costs four to five
times as much.

A recognized, creditable Midwest engine builder estimates around 185-190 bhp
for a full house 1750. Got $18K-$20K kicking around?

Heck, I got 178-181 bhp out of a Fiat 1756cc with 34mm choke 40 IDF's!

Our last freshening of a 75mm by 75mm single plug 101 1300 with 45mm carbs
and 38mm chokes was able to post 150.8 bhp at 8250 rpm.

All it takes is money!
