I'd disagree wrt them being required. Certainly worth doing, but not
required, imo. The real modification, again imo, would be to update to the
stiffer springs, torsion bars, and sway bars, so as to account for the
increased weight of the motor.
I believe that he's referring to laws that they have in Australia
requiring that if a car is modified such that it gains weight, you
have to fit brakes from a car of equal or greater weight than your
finished product.
