While you might avoid some of these headaches with a poly bushing, I don't
know how you'd avoid them all.
Actually installing the new poly bush is pretty easy.

Remove the transmission crossmember from the vehicle.

My non-factory sanctioned trick for removing the old deDion bush (the original one, not the SZ-one) is to heat the metal around the bush until the plastic of the bushing starts to melt. It will then be very easy to squeeze out (this works great for the rear tranny mount too.)

Clean out the hole. Lube the poly bush, and using some all thread rod, some washers, and some large sockets, squeeze the new bush home.

Reinstall the crossmember.

That's it. The poly bush is a nice upgrade, and certainly better than a thrashed oem one.
