I found it necessary also to remove the front bolts of the sub-frame and
let the sub-frame drop.  As I recall, the material in the CD was pretty
much it (except that Steve helped a lot in clarifying what it contained;
adding useful tid-bits)

I think I concluded that the alternator probably did not have to come out.
