Year of the car would help.   You car probably has Bosch L-Jetronic.  K-Jet
was never used on any Alfa.   You need to buy a Saab or Volvo for that ;).
If it's not electronic, it's a Spica system similar to CIS but not really.
If it's post 1991, it's Motronic ML4.1.

High HC indicates running rich.   Possible causes (assuming EFI):

Bad O2 sensor
Thermostat stuck open/missing
Coolant temp sensor stuck/broken/unplugged (also check connector corrosion)
Fouled plugs
Weak spark (check/replace all ignition components)

Give those things a look.  Email the list or me directly with what you find.
