[alfa] RE: alfa-digest V9 #1107
I got you both beat. Raised cast iron cover in street cracked bell housing,
flattened cat and punctured rear transmission case. Insurance totalled the
car and gave me a check for $3k. I found a used bell housing, cats from Tom
Zat and tapped and epoxyed a 5/8" bolt in the trans case and fixed for about
$1K. (9 years ago and all is still well)

Been there, but instead of manifolds, we broke our oil pan on the way to
an Alfa Convention out west, a few years ago. Sounds like we were lucky
compared to you, only needed a pan, and it only leaked about a quart a
day. Was drivable.
Best Wishes,

Ps. Oh and I was driving. <g> bjb
