[alfa] Transmission and Differential Lubricant

I've posted on the BB also.
Last summer I started on a campaign to do a lot of small things to my 69
Spider that I have owned 18 years. Change transmission and differential
fluid. Had to buy 5 gallons from the local Shell distributor, Shell Spirax
80/90 HD. This is the recommended lube. The transmission had about 20K miles
on a rebuild done 16 years ago. It shifted harder than before the change but
I thought it would get better. Instead the front seal went out soaked clutch
with lube.

My bad Luck. Change clutch etc. Months go by because I'm slow.

Now I'm under the car again doing something and the differential seal is
leaking noticeably. No more than 20 miles since lube change.

So is this coincidence or is the Spirax causing problems?
