Re: [alfa] Transaxle weak points



I probably should have sated that the transaxles are not strong enough on
cars with 300+ hp. A few people I know with fuel injected 3.4lt V6 race cars
strip, inspect and rebuild the transaxle between events, or every 2nd event.
They are addiment that some components require routine replacement (other
than synchro rings) to avoid major catastrophes.
Not sure I would trust a donut with that much power going through it while
turning into a corner at 200kph.
I wouldn't say as above for say 240hp.
It would be interesting to here from anyone with a genuine group A GTV and
see how the factory went about sorting a few of these issues.
If your going to do more than a handful of laps a oil cooler for the g/box
is also required.
