Re: [alfa] transaxle rattle



The first thing to check is that all the bolts on the rubber couplings are
really tight. If even one of the nuts is loose the washer can move and the
noise gets amplified by the drive shaft causing a racket. If you continue to
drive it with a loose nut the other two on that joint will work loose little
by little and then the bolts will move and bend and wear the holes in the
driveshaft oval causing an even larger banging rattle. Don't ask me how I
know this...
