RE: [alfa] drip drip dripping heater valve

The heater valve in the GTV-6 is in the passenger side footwell on the side
of the heater box. If this is where it is leaking from, then it is most
likely the heater valve.

The valve has a plastic body which gets brittle with age. They are not
serviceable, just replace it.

When you do replace it, be very careful when you fit the hose onto the
valve. They are quite fragile and forcing the hose onto the valve from the
engine compartment side can exert enough force to break it ... BTGTTS more
than once.

HTH ... Happy New Year

Subject: [alfa] drip drip dripping heater valve

Hi All,
Danyone know anything about the mechanical, lever-actuated valve that
supplies
coolant to the heater core from the engine bay?
I see that IAP lists one for over a hundred bucks. First, I don't know if
this is what I want and Second, I don't know if I want to pay that much for
such a little part.... especially if I can rebuild it.

So... can the doohickey be rebuilt?

Thanks in advance,
Darren
