[alfa] Removing window tinting...

Removing window tinting is a two step process, really - mechanical and chemical.

First, the mechanical part - peel the film off. Sometimes it will peel off nice and neat, other times you'll have to scrap it off with a razor blade. If you have to use a razor, you will want to be careful not to scratch the glass. Once you get it off, you'll be left with a layer of adhesive residue.

The second part, the chemical part, isn't really so bad but can be messy and time consuming. Pep Boys and the like sell film removal stuff - the key ingredient being ammonia. Really crusty adhesive that's been sun baked on for quite some time can be tricky. A common trick is to goop the film removal gel stuff on fairly thickly, then cover it with a sheet of plastic from a trash bag and let it work. When the adhesive gets cloudy, it will come off fairly easily - steel wool is your freind here.

Good luck. It's not like replacing the steering rack in a Milano, but can take some time.
