Subject: [alfa] V-6 Timing Belt Tensioner

I am currently retrofitting my GTV-6 from the mechanical tensioner to the
old oil fed tensioner that I plan to run statically (without oil pressure).
Can anyone give me advice on plugging the oil feed through the stud? I've
thought of RTV or just welding it but I was hoping for better suggestions.

JB Weld in the original oil feed stud is my suggestion.

Okay, that was kind of ambiguous. What I meant was to fill the original stud with JB Weld, *not* glue it in place with JB Weld. Put the factory-specified threadlocker, or a "thread sealant" on the threads.

But as Mark points out, the original stud may not even fit any more, if its hole was drilled out to a larger size and tapped with English threads, as was the procedure for installing the thermomechanical tensioner.
