Andy,
Ducting the crankcase blowby gasses into the induction will not decrease 
horsepower. I believe it's something that should be done; it makes the car alot 
more environmentally friendly. The use of a filter (like the one shown in the 
IAP catalog) is not for filtering the gas on the way out, but for filtering air 
as it may find it's way back into the crankcase during hot soak and cooldown 
time. Emission control devices that reduce power include mechanics that run off 
the engine (airpumps) or restrict exhaust passage (catalytic converters), 
among others. Burning crankcase gas is a real and easy way to do the right thing.
