[alfa] Bolt Torque

To pick up on the thread previously titled, "Just where do you think that
crank pulley is going..."

Ben kindly directed us to a couple of good sites with info on the torque
generally proper for bolts of various sizes, a point that arose in a
discussion of fastening a steering wheel.

I'm working on refinishing a steering wheel, and getting ready to do the swap.
This project, however, involves a nut -- no bolt. I.e., the threaded fastener
is like a stud, secured somewhere farther down the steering column. All I do
is remove and then replace a nut to hold the wheel on.

If I actually had a torque wrench, how would I guess the value to use in that
circumstance? Working backward from the stud diameter and thread pitch?
