repair, you should check that the antenna is properly grounded. The base of the
antenna needs to have good electrical connection with the sheetmetal on the
inside of the fender. Also, the connector on the radio side could have partly slid

Been there, done that. I was really hoping there was a problem with the
antenna, ground, or cable, but no such luck.
