A PO did this to my 74 Spider. I like having the shoulder belt.

The solution is to get the newer style seats. They have a place for the
shoulder belt to be routed and held in place. Locating the anchor for the
shoulder belt is important too. As I start cleaning up the interior and
working a few details out on my spider I'll be verifying the mounting of
the shoulder belt mechanism is secure and safe. Otherwise, what's the
point? :)
