More Info on Gear Lightening

        In addition to Ray's listing of Merritt Cardin's website on Alfa gear 
lightenting, Mike Valant also has an excellent demo on what he did for his 
Giulia Super race car at <A HREF="http://mev4474.home.texas.net/index.htmI";>http://mev4474.home.texas.net/index.htmI</A> (select Alfa 
Romeo and then Building a Racing Gearbox).
       I had Tom Sahines (ARA Tech Advisor, tsahines@domain.elided) do the 
gear lightening in my '89 Spider and I love it.  You can't manhandle the 
shifts, but they are much easier than before with less syncro complaints.  I don't 
know if Tom has a url (at least I don't have one bookmarked), but there are 
several articles on Alfisti with gearboxes Tom has lightened.  Just do a Google 
search on Tom Sahines.
