Drive shaft removal: GTV 6

I have a 1985 GTV 6.  I'm having difficulty removing
the drive shaft from two of the front donut bolts. 
I've successfully removed the back end of the shaft
from the transaxle, but I neglected to push the front
bolts through before detaching the rear of the shaft. 
Any other suggestions besides some how holding the
shaft up and hanging on it to get it lose?
