Need Advice: Converting Giulia Super to Hydraulic Clutch/Hanging Pedals

My 1600 Super was converted to a 2.0 L, with a
hydraulic clutch rigged up by the previous owner.
However, it still retains the floor-hinged pedals.
While the engine was still in, I noticed that the
amount of pedal pressure needed to activate the clutch
was WAY too hard! I now have the engine out for
rebuild, and want to get this clutch problem sorted
out so that it requires less actuating pressure.

The previous owner performed the hydraulic clutch
modification, and there is no documentation as to
where he got the idea or plans to rig it up. My
questions are thus:

1)Is there a preferred or technically best way to
convert the cutch over to hydraulic operation, using
the stock floor-hinged pedal system? Does anybody have
knowledge or instructions for how to do so? I'd be
happy to just receive a few simple hand sketches and
personal advice how best to do it...

2) A Giulia Super Yahoo Group member suggested I
install a hanging pedal box and completely get rid of
the floor pedals. While this is undoubtedly the
optimum way to go (the master cylinders can be bled
easily--and I'd have no more strange pedal linkages!),
the additional complexity involved in cutting and
reinforcing the firewall makes me hesitate a bit. I
wonder what others' experience has been in converting
floor pedals over to hanging ones? Is it so much
better after all is said and done? Will it interfere
with the parking brake levers and mechanism? Will any
pedal box from a 115 series car work (they are
plentiful) or will I need to find a box from a later
series 105 sedan?

Again, does anyone have instructions and/or personal
advice for doing the hanging pedal box conversion?

Thanks,
