Tech - Engine missing only when Hot?

Not particular to Alfa, in this case, not even an Alfa,
but am wondering what causes engine to miss only after
it has been driving for at least half an hour, then come
to stop at traffic light, the misses are quite frequent
say about 5-6 misses a minute with somewhat random 
interval time in between. When cold, absolutely no
misses. 

scheduled service done at dealer right before given 
to us and dealer papers sez all checked out well.
