Sounds like the all-too-common 164 master cylinder failure. The right-front/
left-rear circuit will retain pressure, usually when it's very hot out.
The next time it starts happening (you can feel the brake pedal start to
stiffen), pull over and feel the temperature of all four wheels. If the
right-front and left-rear wheel are hot, you've got a bad master cylinder.
I have some extra NOS master cylinders for sale if you need one.
